Wondering if anyone had an opinion on the PVC and its removal from the obverse (reverse does not appear to be effected) of the Washington quarter i got today. The dull green sheen seems to effect only the LIBERTY and the field to the left of Washington. Actually it isn't even very noticeable unless you look for it. The coin has a nice old flat patina and i was wondering if i use acetone to try to remove the PVC what effect will that have on the "look" of the coin?? Because I'm not sure... Acetone will remove any PVC. Acetone will not harm the coin.
