Hello guys I'm thinking about purchasing this coin and was wondering what you guys thought would be a good price to pay for it. Thanks for your time! Screenshot_20180819-172445-ccfopt (1).jpg

I'd pass and save your money for a better example, here's why:

Comparing it with this which sold in May at CNG for $180, full legend, not so worn and better detail on the bust (not to mention that eagle is absolutely stunning!).

Sold for $180. This amount does not include the buyer’s fee.

@Aidan_() Fair enough. Its a pretty nice and hefty coin in hand and I don't regret any second of having had it, and I hope the next owner enjoys it just as much as I have. Already have an upgrade to it so I didn't seriously need it anymore, especially now that I found a coin that I want much, much more, and am using the funds towards that. Curious, I wonder if anyone here bid on it.

Fortunately Ptolemy II tets are pretty common, so there's definitely one out there with your name on it.

Do you know which Ptolemy tets are not common?

Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

Retail fixed price it would be right at $150. As an auction, who knows? Many factors will affect the price. It might sell for $50 or $500. It really depends on how badly you want an example (and of course do you want that specific variety, or just a Ptolemaic tet in general?), or how quickly. Many collectors have specific coins in mind and do often wait years for the right coin to appear at the right price and at the right time for them to buy. Have patience, scan sales prices both auction and retail. When you are ready you can make a more informed decision.

BTW, I find the OP coin quite attractive and highly collectible. I dont know what it sold for (though somehow I think I have seen in somewhere).
