Proof?

This one looks like seriously worned proof or just a P. Any advice?

It's difficult to tell from those photos. It may have a been a proof like at one time but it's circulated and worn past that point. Also looks like the 7 tail feathers variety. Also hard to see.

 

It also looks very cleaned, which isn't great news.

Once a proof, always a proof. I have seen PR35 coins personally, and images of PR10 coins.

 

It doesn't have proof rims. Would have been a pretty PL coin in '78.

 

You're missing my point but that's okay. I said proof like, not proof.

 

The rims don't look right for a proof. It's just a business strike that has been scrubbed.

More photos. I was able to take the reflection technique thing. The face side isn't clean or anything no refletion there.

 

Makes it (maybe) 'proof like' but no cigar for a proof coin. Rims don't look sharp enough for these worn eyes.......

 

Yes. Rims are worn down about 60% or so. Looks like it has worn down to some of the edges

 

Looks like it's been polished to me.
