I was digging through some stuff tonight and ran across some slabbed quarters, like a 1940 PR65 and a couple of 1941 PR66's. Thought I'd check current values. Were they worth what I paid for them a few years ago? Nope. Down a bit. Why are coins with mintages in the 11,000 - 15,000 dollar range so dead? Like <$150. It's not like this is a tough set like the seated quarters or something. Doesn't anybody like them?

I like them IN old PCGS Rattlers.
Not much in newer holders for a set of Washington quarters.
I have noticed if you go to the B&M coin stores, they will sell 32-D or S at half price just to get rid of them but on eBay the full retail price is asked for the BIN. I have watched them for awhile and 32-D or S are not selling, just low grade, fine or lower.
I did pick up the keys as not much is selling on the rest of the set.

Same thing mostly with the pre-war Jefferson nickel proofs.

Yep I got some of those too. Thanks for the reminder:). And some proof mercs that are in the same boat. Guess I should be glad I bought a good bit of this stuff 4-5 years ago and not further back when prices were higher.
