I was rearranging things in the safe and decided to look at the silver eagles. The ones dated 1986 thru 1993 are in the maroon boxes. Everyone of them rattled when I picked them up to peek inside. The holder the coin is in has come apart. 1994's and up are fine. As careful as I could I tried to close them back up but they don't want to close back. One has started to tone..I like toned but not nessasarily these, but I can't stop it from happening now. Why are they coming apart and is there a solution?? Gary
Toning was going to happen if the holder had been open or had been closed...its just what happens...they tone. The mint doesn't sell new holders for ASE but if you want new ones you might check with dealers that send in ASE Proofs to get graded...they might have some holders. Speedy
