Proof sets

    What is a capital hold er i am looking at buying some proof sets and they are explained as proof set in capital holder.

    It is just a plastic holder made for coins by Capital Plastics. Looks like this:

    Capital holders are the hard plastic holders. They are not what the coins originally came in.

    They were quite popular before the mint began packaging proof sets in hard plastic cases.

    Also as more people pulled coins from Proof sets , the Capitol holders were a good looking way of putting full sets together wether proof or mint sets . They also gave pretty good protection to the coins .

    thats what i thought but they were older and i thought they might have come frome the mint
