proof sets

    Just bought a 2001 proof set? Is it me or do the state quarters look gold plated? Probably just my eyes playing tricks on me.

    without pics, DJCoins is correct - without pics, we have no idea if 'your' set looks gold :)

    it may have toned, which is bad for you it implies improper storage of the set before you rcvd it imho

    unless that guy from HSN got a holt to it. He will plate anything with anything. Guess we all need a hobby

    If it is in original mint packaging it is probably toning. If it isn't then it may well be plating.
