Proof or Business strike 1964 NICKEL

    Thanks . I wasn't sure . Their Ungraded in flips . The other nickels I have from a member on another site gave (contest coins ) me 2 Graded MS 64's /

    Yes, that's generally what an "impaired proof" is.

    Again, I can't tell from the images.

    It's possible. Both proof and business strike 1964 nickels are extremely common, and a lot of the proofs became "orphaned" from proof sets that people broke up to get the silver out of, leaving the cents and nickels as leftover singles. So some of those proof cents and nickels likely found their way into circulation.

    Impaired proof. Those steps are way too clean and sharp to be a Bus strike.

    I didn’t consider that. Yeah, the steps would be more “smooshy” on a business strike, wouldn’t they.

    Smooshy? Yes, they would be. There has never been a 64 BS Jeff attributed with 6 FS. Even the 5FS are weak and some questionable.

    Business strike out of a Mint Set. It doesn’t have proof rims.
