I got bored here a little while ago. I recently introduced my fiance to coins. Now my fiance wont leave the computer looking at coins and shopping around. So, I got bored and started looking through my own collection. Then I can across something that made me do a double take. My 1973 proof set. I looked at the penny. Theres something wrong with it. Its a proof, obviously. However, theres a few gouges in it. I'm suprised that this never caught my eye before. Theres a tiny one at the top, on the front by the "T' in "Trust". Then theres one on the side of Lincoln's head, his jaw, then his shoulder. I got to thinking that maybe its a die crack or something?

I have included a picture so that you can look at it, and I apologize in advace for the blurryness...sorry, not the best camera!

    Please let me know!

We will need better pics than that to be able to tell you anything.

Die cracks are raised and nothing like a gouge. Of course my eyes are still focusing from the glare on the picture. :) Probably need a better picture so the more informed can make a better determination.

Pictures are bad but I would suspect it is just damaged.

I cant see anything from that picture,.But I will say this, ANY TYPE OF ERROR ON A PROOF COIN is a very nice thing to find. and from what I have seen gain in value stronge. If it is indeed mint error.

I cant seem to get a good picture at all. I have tried two different cameras, with and without flash and I just cant get it to be clear because of the plastic that it came in. I even tried scanning it with my scanner, and that was just as blurry as the pictures. I will open the picture with paint and draw circles around the areas I'm talking about through.
