I would like to know if P mint proof coins have a higher value than the S mint?

ohhh - say what? The Philadelphia mint hasn't made any proofs in a long time.

I guess that means the answer is a resounding YES!

    p mint proof coins

Well I guess I goofed again. I meant to state commemorative proof coins, namely the 2008 $1 american bald eale P mint PF-70 coin value compared to the San Franciso mint same coin PF-70 value.
Did I make that clear as mud?

The reason why I am asking is that I saw proof commeoratives listed and the dollar cost was higher for the Pmint coins.

Zeke, I think what you are trying to say is: is there any difference in price related to proof dollars minted at San Francisco as opposed to proof dollars being minted in Philadelphia. Am I correct? San Francisco is the primary center for minting of proof issues, however, Philadelphia has been the major production center of proof silver dollars for the last ten years. Notable exception is the San Francisco old mint commemorative. I believe mintage figures drive the prices related to these coins and not the mint of issue.

Depends on the coin. A 1962 p proof half is probably worth less than a 1995 s silver proof half, but a 1936 p proof half is worth many times ore than both.

You know I'm quite confused now but you all are clarifying somewhat. I thought the both the philly and thr frisco mints made the $1 silver ABE commerative coins. I cannot find much info about what the frisco mint now produces except mint and proof sets. If this is 90% true(special cases autorized by congress) then how come the " S " mint mark is on a proof coin minted in philly? This is where I thought philly proof ABE's were worth more than frisco mint proofs. Clear as mud again.:goofer:

No need for and hiding. I only know this because I studied here, and read, and studied also www.coinfacts.com .

Learning from ebay might not be the easiest way of learning though :)
