Hi all, I just purchased a proof US Mint coin with COA and the plastic container that fits into the round hole in blue case. The plaster disc was not sealed and was easily opened. I did not touch the coin and it appeared proof to me but I was wondering if these typically come to you sealed or loose and easily opened? Any input would be welcome.

They always come open rather easily, as long as you don't touch it, sneeze on it or breathe on it you should be fine. Sneezing and breathing on a coin will eventually cause black spots to appear on the coin.

I've even received them completely out of the coin holder. They get banged around in shipping, if a package hits just right, yeah they can come out.

I thought sneezing on it would make the coin catch a cold!

Nahhhhh - measles & chicken pox, that's where the spots come from. They haven't been vaccinated :D

Thanks all, good to know as I never looked at one before. I opened it a little and i don't think I breathed on it but if it gets black spots I will know why.
