I recently bought a proof ASE.. it came in a fancy box. Is it anything special or are all of them proofs?
All proof ASEs come in fancy boxes. As for special, that would depend on the year. Here's a link to an on-line seller http://www.moderncoinmart.com/proof/ You may also want to visit the US Mint's sight http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...tegoriesDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001
As C Jay said, some years are more "special" than others. The ASEs also come in a non-proof uncirculated version. Some years also include a "burnished" version.
There are also aftermarket boxes that are very similar to the ASE proof box. I have seen people put bullion coins in capsules and then into the aftermarket boxes and sell them as proofs.
