It might be a dumb question but when you buy a proof or mint set from US Mint does it come with both P and D sets?

Proof set contains S minted proof coins
Mint set contains P and D minted uncirculated coins

  4. Welcome to CT! The uncirculated mint set comes with a P and D set of coins. The proof set come with a single S (San Francisco) mint mark set. TC

Recent years yes but "back in the day" Philadelphia produced proof sets.

And there have also been Mint sets that didn't have all the P & D coins, but I think that only happened in 1971 and 72, and 1999. (They didn't have the dollar coins.) And the 1979 mint set didn't have the S mint circulation dollar.

There are no dumb questions. Well, perhaps one. The one that's never asked.
