I see a product called slab renew. $18 with shipping.

    Anyone use another polish?

I know I don't want a product to coat the slab and assume a polish is removing the surface layer.

    Any guidance?

I have used PlastX for several years now with no issues.

Not sure about your topic OP, but on a related topic the best way to get a slab off a poor old coin is a pair of pliers and a screwdriver. Or, if you do not mind the mess a nice bandsaw. :)

Never saw that done, sounds complicated. From what I hear, TPGS use a vice or "pincher" pliers. Long ago, a 2nd tier TPGS grader told me a hammer and a concrete floor worked really well! :jawdrop:

Just curious, do you use a band saw or are you just blowing smoke?

    I use NOVUS.
    It comes in three parts:
    -- heavy scratch remover
    -- fine scratch remover
    -- plastic clean & shine

Um, I have used a band saw. If you have one set up in the garage, its a quick way to cut through a slab. Go slow, though, or else you can melt the plastic and make it a mess to get the coin out.

Hammer and concrete floor would make me nervous that the coin would fall out.

He said the holders only split enough to pull apart easily and he never damaged a coin. I have seen both the vice and the "pincher" (this at coin shows). The vice took longer but it was very efficient.
