I have just added another Probus EQVITI coded coin. Probus Obv:– VIRTVS PROBI AVG, Radiate, helmeted, cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield Rev:– PROVIDENT AVG, Providentia standing left, holding globe and sceptre Minted in Ticinum (Q | _ / SXXI) Reference:– RIC 491 Bust type G The R of PROVIDENT is very mugh like a P with the tail added as an afterthought. Part of EQVITI series (Q)
It can be fun to compare lettering styles and faces on coins of the same place and time. My coin has a very different nose and two part breastplate but is similar in more ways than not.
Love the coin--and I'm sure Doug will post his examples soon as well. I have only one example of the type....and, unfortunately, it has a problem gouged out obverse---less obvious to the naked eye, but distracting as hell otherwise. EDIT: I just noticed Doug posted as I uploaded LOL

I might as well use this thread for my recent EQVITI coins. Here is one I have posted in another thread here recently. And here is another coin that arrived today. R: ADVENTVS AVG Emperor riding left hand raised, left holding scepter; at foot, captive., R (star) S in ex. 20x24 mm, 3.8g Rome mint, RIC 157 a bit rough with an irregular flan and some shallow pitting, but pretty good details and some silvering remaining. for 15 bucks i can live with the negatives easily.
