Does anyone on this forum have the Prices Realized list from the famous "World's Greatest Collections of U.S. Silver coins and U.S.Nickel coins and Half cents" conducted by Numismatic Gallery from Jan. 20, 1945 - May 12,1945 ? I've searched ebay and some other sites, with no success. I have the catalogs, and want to add the PRL to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
What you're looking for are the realized prices for the Frederick C.C. Boyd collection. If you can't find what you want in this document - http://www.coinbooks.org/resources/auctions.pdf - it will at least tell you where you can find it.
Thanks GDJMSP, I check the site and it just listed short information on the auction. Nothing on where I can find the prices realized. Thanks again.
It should list the actual catalog you need. That at least makes it a lot easier to search for. Some of those old ones you find on the net once you know the name of the catalog. I can tell you this much, a lot of the coins from that collection ended up in the Norweb Collection and the Eliasberg Collection.
Are you wanting an original copy or would a photocopy of the PRL work? If a photocopy would work I'd probably join the E-sylum (Weekly email "journal" for numismatic bibliophiles) and request if anyone has a copy. There are over 1400 numismatic book specialists (both collectors and dealers) on the list and I'm sure one of them could probably help track down a copy. Just google e-sylum and go to the e-sylum info page. You can sign up from there.
Thanks Conder101 ,I hadn't thought of that! I am a member of the E-sylum weekly. A photocopy of the PRL would be ok with me. Thanks again.
