This has probably been addressed already but I'm a newbie so here goes. I was just wondering what would be your prized coin or coins. You know, if you were granted one wish to choose the coin of your dreams what would it be?

I don't know...maybe the 1950 PF66 NGC Franklin half...if it was a set it would be a complete set of Half dollars 1794-date....I hope to do a type set but I don't hold much hope in doing a date and mint mark set!...

1870CC $20 Gold Piece. I think this design is one of the best. Especially the reverse.

I'd have quite a few but to narrow down:

    1796 No Pole Half Cent
    1802 Half dime
    1796-1797 Half
    1794 Dollar
1798 Small Eagle $5 (Probably would take this one)

Okay, well, I'm not into collecting all the really really old stuff you all are. My focus is on 1900-2000 cents, nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars. In this category, my dream coins would have to be the 1916-D Mercury Dime, the 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent, and the 1932-D and -S Quarters.

That being said, I would really love to have an MS-quality 1857 Flying Eagle cent. I think the design is absolutely amazing, and it (to me anyways) is absolutely beautiful in any grade! I guess you could count that among my dream coins!

No contest - an example of the copper 1 momme minted at England's Heaton Mint in 1869, proposed for use by the Japanese as their first modern coin, but rejected by the Meiji government.

Krause lists it as Pn3 and grossly undervalues it at $3,000!

When Japan did go modern the following year, the yen was valued at 1,000 momme. :D

I'd say my English Anglo-Saxon penny of King Athelstan struck in around 930 AD.

1927-D St. Gaudens Twenty Dollar Gold Piece would be one to look for. But I tend to like any/all St. Gaudens as well.
