Hello Everyone... Just wanted to show you the latest addition to my AGE collection, the 1991 $25 Eagle mintage 24,100. Anyone want to try at the grade?? RickieB
Nice coin. Very close to perfect. I particularly like the $25 because I believe it is the only coin ever minted in that denomination. This might be important to collectors in the future along with the low mintage.
Well....guessing the grade with only one side is a no, no....post the other side and I'll take a guess Speedy
Hello Speedster! Per our recent conversations "you know the grade" so with you it's no guess at all. I Knew you were going to ask to see the reverse..I will post it for you as well. The whole concept for the pic was to see if anyone would catch the area on the obverse that gave it it's grade from PCGS..I have seen worse with higher grades..will post it this evening. So I read your post in the Introduction Area to my son AJ (Too Deep Water) he can not type or spell yet but he say's "Cool Daddy" say hi to Speedy for me. RickieB
I would guess you mean the mark from the reeding on another coin hitting this one on the 9th ray from the sun?...that is the 9th up from the left Well this is the place for AJ...when I started years ago on the Old CoinWorld forum I wasn't a good speller (still working on it to ) and just typing and reading posts everyday has helped me tons.... Speedy
Well Speedster..you are Correct..it is the contact mark on the 9th ray that gave it it's grade..MS 68...wish it were better..but these are had to get and very $$$$ Take care.. RickieB
Now I don't remember you telling me about the mark on the sun...and if you had I forgot it...it took me a few min. to find the mark though....very nice coin! Speedy
Well..I did not even know of the reed mark on the ray's...a good friend called me with the coin and said it would go 68 or 69...loop Coin out of Mobile, Alabama. Good dealer known them a long time...he mentioned the tick marks...I suppose beggars can not be choosy with such a low minted coin. I picked this coin up for $875.00...not to shabby I would say. RickieB
So..for those of you wanting a peek... here is the reverse side..posted on the original post edited today. RickieB
Hey Cloudsweeper... The AGE series have been minted sine 1986 in all 4 denominations. 1, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10th oz. The 1/2 oz are by far the least minted with the 1/4oz running a close second. Some of these coins are difficult to locate and quite $$$$ Thanks for taking a look.. RickieB
The $25 AGE is on my list of things to buy, but I don't have even one yet. Yours is particularly nice. My gut feeling is that in the long run it will turn out to have the largest premium over bullion value of any of the AGE denominations.
Hi Cloudsweeper.. I hope you are correct..the collection is for my young son..see Introduction Thread by "Too Deep Water" my 3.6 mo old son..loves coins and is very protective with the safe and his gold..hahah LOL RickieB
Hello Bruce..Semper Fi..from one grunt to another..thanks for taking a look. 2Bn/9th Marines (The Walking Dead) 3rd MAR DIV 71-74 RickieB E5
