Saw a Judd-1599 1879 Morgan half dollar, PR67CAM PCGS, on Collectors Corner. The identical coin is being offered by New York Gold Mart for $47K and Kagin's for $40K. Based on dates, apparently New York Gold Mart couldn't sell it, sold it Kagin's, who priced it lower. Or perhaps its consigned, and the owner got tired of waiting. Oh, wow... now that it's priced at only $40K, I'm just going to run right out and buy it. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if it's $40K or $400K; both are equally out of reach for me until I win the lottery.
For $40K, I'd probably pick up the Goloid dollar at $12K+, and use the balance to cover my coin-collecting budget for the rest of my natural life.
