Still going through a recent consignment - found this pretty cool VAM 17. The good: the coin has minimal bag marks. The bad: the coin has some kind of cloudy substance on the obverse. Do any of you Morgan experts think this coin should be TPG'd? 1879 S/S Morgan Dollar VAM 17 (S/S and Doubled Date)
As part of an economy or bulk order, perhaps. It really depends what's on the obverse. Acetone might take it off if it is actually a substance and not hazy toning. There's not a premium on this VAM at this time. Double check against VAM 15 and 54. While I haven't attributed any 79-S VAM 17, I have seen 6 VAM 15 and 3 VAM 54.
