Have any of you done a database/bar graph or something like that to show if there is a pattern for which days gold/silver if usually high and which days are lower in general. Local jewler says Mon is almost always lower. If going up on Tuesday, expect Wed to go up as well. On Thursday, if it picks up it could go higher on friday or stay the same, if it goes down, Friday will probaly go lower still. True or Not? Thanks
I'd think the historical charts found on most websites is more than enough info. Unless you're planning on buying huge quantities, the day-to-day fluctuations aren't enough to be concerned with. It all pretty much goes up and down, opposite of what the stock markets are doing. Not enough change to make it worth tracking more than monthly as far as I can tell.
I would agree, precious metals are all over the place. At the time of this posting Silver is $19.04 an oz which is the highest is has been in weeks. You can check the prices on any presious metal website like apmex.com which has an hourly update.
That's funny - from the money changers I hear, they say that US dollars tend to be strong on Monday and gets weak on the Friday. That would correlate to the pattern of what your local jeweler says.
There seems to be a trend where investors take their profits on Fridays. Not always, but when a lot of them cash out you see the spot goes down. While up and down movement is the rule I agree that it seems to bottom out on Mondays. Also watch the end of the month profit taking.
Wow, you're right. But the thing is, like you say, it hasn't been that high in months. It's pretty much been between 17.00 and 18.00 most of the year. Not too eventful. Maybe this will be an interesting week though.
in months?? it hit 21 a couple months ago. it will be an interesting week for sure, its already high.platinum and Gold too!
If you are interested in charting PM's, then you might want to check out www.kitco.com and the forums there. Those folks collect PM's and not necessarily coins, but bars, rounds and bullion. There are a ton of charts posted there to check out also in the Silver and Gold threads.
