Do you any of you have one, and if so, which one do you use? I am thinking of getting a "Sigma Precious Metal Verifier Pro." Here is what it looks like along with a link for the description of what it can do, including scanning coins all the way through the metal even when in slabs. https://sdbullion.com/precious-metals-verifier-pro-sigma-metalytics
Sure.. I have $1500.00 easy to get one of those! I would like one. I have seen different types. I like the hand-held machines. But they are so expensive!
there's been threads about the analyzers even including the $20k+ XRF handheld ones. Just search about
One of the coins shops I wander to once in a while has the Sigma Metalytics scanner $800ish https://sdbullion.com/gold-and-silv..._medium=retargeting&utm_campaign=lower funnel he simply places, for the instances in which I saw, a gold coin on the circle and it tells him if it's real/fake by the composition.
found a few threads to read up on I searched for "sigma metalytics" https://www.cointalk.com/threads/sigma-metalytics-modern-5-half-eagles.296929/ https://www.cointalk.com/threads/how-do-you-authenticate-your-gold.319289/#post-3124217 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/can-this-be-real.299124/ and you can search for specific analyzers too.
