    I picked up 4 quarters @ a local shop.
    1964-d
    1953-d
    1943-s
    1951-d

    I'm a sucker....paid $20.
Checked out the melt value and it came to about $12. So I guess $8 dollars extra isn't bad for something I really wanted even though he probably bought them for face.

    Someone please reassure me...LOL

U pay what you think they are worth to you. I would have paid $20 bucks for them too. Hope that helps

I've already stored them away in coin flips. Wouldn't be a good picture. The coins look very nice though!!

So they have a home, how nice.

You did a good deed. You gave four lovely pre-1964 a very good and welcoming home in flaps. I think you did good. Sometimes the hobby cost a little bit. I I think you did good. What kind of condition were they in? Shiney? I like shiney.

Congratulations on your new additions of Washington quadtruplets!

BTW, I simply get thrilled by running my hand through a pile of pre-1964 Washington quarters. They sound so cool.

That's funny you say that because I was dropping them on the table and comparing them to the sound of new quarters. The old ones sound so cool!

The sound of silver is soo nice :D
As for price it depends on the quality.
How nice are they? You could have gotten a real good deal...

I am glad I have visitation rights

If you are asking about Sunflower's quarters - well they are pretty darn nice. I got a real deal on them. My ex told me about a dealer - he assured me I would like the price, but he said the quality could be a grab bag and I was warned about culls.

So, I was ready to get some "junk". I received anything but junk with my junk silver.

The first bag appeared more like AU (light surface scratches). The second bag had some wear on them. All were so very clean, that I had to wonder if they had been sent through the rinse cycle, but I doubt it, due to the overall brightness of most -especially with bag #1.

I just could not believe it. The actual seller for these quarters appeared to be operating out a private residence or other non-disclosed location in a forest area of California (I looked up the address). If I can ever buy more, I will certainly ask my dealer to please try and use this source again).

In fact, I might add this part about the delay in getting them. After a month I phoned the dealer. He was shocked that I did not get them within a week. After a couple hours he phoned to say, that the guy had them buried in his basement (covered up with something) and had overlooked them. Since I was a first time customer I did not realize that they normally would have a short turnaround time.

I wish I felt safe keeping them closer at hand, but I don't due to the rising prices of silver. They are in the bank. I am glad I have visitation rights.

Just let the $8 overage be a good learning tool for you. I've paid a lot more for many of my lessions!

It's called a learning experience. Everyone has them, otherwise they don't learn.

I hope not as he has been dropping them on a table to hear thier sound!
I would guess they are just as we think circulated quarters.
