Just received the coin that will represent Postumus in my collection. I collect for portraits and this one, IMO, is a perfect (and typical) representation of that emperor. The portrait IMO show in its facial features a real expressiveness. Its truly is a wonderful coin...in my humble opinion. Its great what you can get for much cheaper if you dont mind that the reverse isnt so hot :) :

That´s some amazing detail on the obverse, nice acquisition:thumb: I´m sure Gallienus is turning in his grave.

    Hello,

Quite a nice one, and Herc Pacifero is not so bad, considering that the reverses were so often struck with worn dies.
    Good acquisition

    VERY NICE DRUSUS!
Mine is also quite nice but has a slightly less expressive portrait. The reverse is also weakly struck but check out the artwork on the children surrounding Pietas,no doubt done by a budding 3rd century Pablus Picassus.

wow...so many nice postumii :) It DOES seem that on the whole the rev on his coins are often weak...not bad though which makes it a shame.

Many of the usurper coins have weak reverses (& sometimes obverses) due to how long the dies stayed in use.

What a nice selection, I love the expression on his face in Drusus's coin LOL and he seems to be frowning in AnemicOak version, that in itself is great as it makes you wonder what the engraver of the dies thought of the man :D
