Here is a recent auction win that I think is pretty interesting. It is an unofficial FEL TEMP overstruck on a posthumous issue of Constantine I. The coin below is the undertype, a posthumous issue from Antioch.

and here is the overstruck coin rotated and showing the undertype-

These posthumous coins were struck until about A.D. 347 in Antioch and replaced in A.D. 348 with the FEL TEMP coinage. The coin below is a FEL TEMP from Antioch. It is 24mm, so quite a bit larger than the 15mm posthumous coin, but there is a smaller 17mm module FEL TEMP, but I am using this example because it has a nice star in left field and a cool spiral shield...though that has nothing to do with the overstrike.

That’s a cool find, Victor, congrats. I would think @dougsmit and @randygeki would enjoy seeing it.

Yes, I would love that one. Below is a Constantius Gallus falling horseman overstruck on a Constantius II Soldier and two captives. The undertype was the middle denomination of the three in the original FTR group but demonetized along with the smaller Phoenix coins when the standards started shrinking. More time passed between the two issues on Victor's coin. I wonder if it was a single coin or part of a bucket full they were tasked to upgrade.
