That's a beautiful Peace Dollar. I'm quite sure some TPG would be glad to charge for "restoration" of the reverse. (in keeping with the theme of another thread, this isn't a slight). Coins get dirty over time, and restoring them isn't a felony if done correctly. They just do not want "us" to do it.

    Another neato eBay find; $18.50 shipped -- 1949 MS66

Edit: as -jeffB pointed out, typo here; this is clearly 1952, not '49.

    1949, or 1952?

Oops, you're absolutely correct -- this one is obviously 1952 MS66. I also ordered a 1949, but don't have photos of that one to share yet :)

How about $6.27 for a nice AU IHC? Still had a bit of luster.

Bit of an impulse buy, but at only $35, I couldn't resist.

$45. Has some weird spotting and haze, but the fields underneath are very clean and lustrous. Considering getting it conserved.

After viewing the auction, I see they at least knew enough to think it was struck through something.

Heck, you both won -- they got $10 (minus fees) for it, instead of five cents at the store!
