Bought this one raw as a 1911, had to submit twice to get a weak D. Already sold it..

Here are a few more I own now. I have not updated pictures in a while, so have several MS62 on top of these.

Nice stuff, I don't have any slabbed Indian quarter eagles.

    But one or two Libertys.

They are an Ex buy in 63/64, wish I can buy them at a reasonable price. Gray sheet bid is $450-$600.

I have been picking up a few 62's for $340 or so. Used to pay $400 for that grade.

After reading that article, I don't think I'm going anywhere near an uncertified Indian quarter eagle any time soon. I mean, seriously, 40% of all counterfeit gold coins received by PCGS are these, and it's one of the toughest US coins to grade due to the incuse devices.

That said, I'm glad you can get them in nice grades for under $500 apiece, except, of course, 1911-D. :)

I thought it was a decent article and this is a series I really want to get into. I haven't checked out the other articles yet.

I think staying away from raw gold is probably generally wise, unless of course you have someone you trust to buy from...which I don't.

Where do you find them? They seem to be way overpriced on eBay.

Ebay. Just have to wait and watch each one. Most go higher, but I've gotten a few good deals on them.

This is my first CAC coin. I don't really care about the CAC sticker. TBH, I have never heard of CAC till about a month ago..:shame:
