Race, your type set is AMAZING! We all aspire to that.

In terms of photographic skills ... thanks! It's all done with my cr@ppy 3 year old iphone camera in indirect sunlight at a south facing window (best shots are on cloudy days). All the shots are hand held with coin in one hand and the iphone in the other hand ... trying desparately not to shake too much or drop everything. And it's a real art to hold the iphone and push the SHOOT button with the same hand. Actually I think real trick is taking about 100 shots of each coin, out of that many, i am bound to get one that looks good.

Thanks. It's fun to post cool coins. And I enjoy viewing cool coins posted by other members. It's one of the great joys of CoinTalk.

What program do you use to edit/crop your photos?

I really just need to study this great tutorial/thread by green18, http://www.cointalk.com/t175157/ then download photoscape and play with it.

I use an old version of Adobe Photoshop I think it's from 2006. Thats how i made the little reflection.
I think there are cheaper programs tho ... Photoshop costs $500+

yes, there is an art to it ... however no graphics program can fix a bad photo!

what i do is roll the coin around until it looks the best to my eye. then shoot from that exact angle.

Couldn't resist posting on this thread. Pulled out a few 20 Libs and sprinkled them with some nuggets. Raw gold is pretty nice to have around when it is chunky and interesting. It gets me daydreaming about the old west and what it was that people were after that made them explore and settle this great country. A time when a man came home and laid his knife and gun belt on the table, now we lay our wallet, car keys and cell phone there. Can you imagine walking around with this sort of thing in your pocket for money? It's nice to know that a small grip of gold can still be worth an equivalent amount today what it was back then. This lot will someday pay for some kind of future holiday or get me out of a jam, whatever the case I will keep adding. five oz of gold.jpg

Congrats on your first 100 posts. Here's my First Spouse Gold Liberty sub set. These things have gone up a ton in value in the past year or so and I think they will continue to go higher because they are very low mintage and just awesome designs!
