I've got 5 gold coins, here are two of them...

1959 British Sovereign 0.2354oz of pure AU. Looks like a solid MS64 or 65!

Here's a tiny little guy. 1945 2.5 Mexican Pesos. 0.0602oz of pure AU.

I've got around 20+ ounces of silver just in coins! Here are a few recent one I got for spot...
1952 Franklin (obverse is not toned at all). I painted black around the coin on MS Paint...the rim isn't irregular as it looks in the pic :)

    1942 50-cent piece

Rather than buying "cheap", I would suggest buying a quality gold coin, and just saving your money up.

Here are two of my quarter eagles.

    Price Paid: $239.55
    1912 $2.5 PCGS AU55.jpg

    Price Paid: $253.50
    1911 $2.5 PCGS AU58.jpg
    1911 AU58 Obverse.JPG
    1911 AU58 Reverse.JPG

Good luck with whatever gold coin you buy ;)

They only "cheap" gold coin I can think of is one that goes for spot. But those are hard to come by, although I've had some great luck.

NO YOU CAN'T. It's either fake, gold coloured, or gold plated (which is not a gold coin).

You know those go up in price after like a couple minutes, right??? Put an authentic gold coin in your watch list, and watch it go up.
The only way you get a gold coin for $1 on ebay, is it is a 24K mini fake coin, a copy, or it is a gold plated clad coin. It is not possible to buy an authentic gold coin for $1 on ebay.

I know I've posted my modern Spouse gold pic a few other places on this forum, but I like them:

But I also like silver too... not just the super high grade stuff that's in my registry sets either, though I have a preference for the older stuff:

Okay, then get an ebay account, and see the completed listings, or get an ebay account, and put one in your watch list.
Real gold coins will never sell at $1. ;)
