Post your favorite coin in your collection. This is my favorite coin. It's a 1923 peace dollar that was in my great grandfathers collection! I sent it to NGC and it came back MS-63!
I like this the most because it is the coin facts coin. Also it has everything I like. Toning, a pattern and not the usual metal for the denomination.
Here's my favorite I'd wanted one since I first saw one as a young coin collector finally could afford one
One of my goals is to get a coin from the 1700's. I now have mid 1800's, but want earlier. Anyhow nice.
Are those adjustment marks on the obverse? I don't get to see them too often, so I'm not sure. Nice coin! Chris
Yeah after a lot of "don't send in a $30 coin that's AU-58 at best" I still sent it in and it's one if the best things I've ever done.
Impossible task for me. I'm sorry, I just can not make such a commitment to just one coin. When it comes to favorites, I'm torn into little pieces and dispersed in many directions.
Yep! This is definitely one of those exceptions to the rule. The heck with what other collectors say. It belonged to your great grandfather! You know what? I have the soup ladle my grandfather used when he was a cook in World War I. If I could have it encapsulated, I certainly would. Chris
You can get a large cent or even some colonials for under $200 I bought a graded problem free 1798 last night for $285 silver is a bit tougher about the only problem free one that can be bought for under $1k is a 1795 flowing hair half and it'll be just under
That is what they are not too severe I thought a silver plug would've been even better but their tough to find and even harder to buy
Roger Burdette's book, From Mine to Mint, explained that gold and silver coins were routinely subjected to adjustment marks when the blanks weighed more than the tolerances established, but blanks that were underweight usually went into a "reject bin" to be melted and recast. Chris
