I like that you considered rarity as a factor in selecting the Domitian for your "Twelve Caesars" set. His 17th imperial acclamation is quite scarce, not to mention the coin's in fine style too.

I have too many Domitian's to post them all, so I'll choose one that I fancy at the moment.

Purchased in 2010 from Harry Sneh, he was a collector's collector.

David, I love that coin. I like that his entire name is spelled out on the obverse. I also think it is a very artistic job on the part of the die engraver. Specifically I really like the use of space on both the obverse and the reverse. Both the bust and the figure of Minerva are exceptionally well balanced with the space in the fields that surround these objects. It also does not hurt that both the obverse and reverse have full legends centered well on the flan.

    A truly exceptional coin.

Thanks for the comments on my coin. Rarity was definitely a factor in my selection. I wanted something special to finish the set.

A nice Domitian/Minerva denarius is on the list. At the moment all I have of his is a worn but interesting provincial from a large mixed lot. I like it enough to keep it :).

Hmmm, it seems this 'iconic' portrait of Domitian I have has been out in public quite a bit lately LOL, right 'V'?? But here's my denarius again.

    Nice Domitians out there,

As it's quite a hard job to stick to the "one per ruler" rule, I have two of his, a denarius and a middle bronze

man, even I can't post my same Domitian example again, can I? (nope, but please don't tell it that the other Domitians had a party and it wasn't invited, okay?)

I only own one Domitian, which I choose for my 12 Caesar set because I really liked the style (ok, I admit it, I bought it because it was pretty!).
