I asked for any CRW's at a bank in an older part of the city. The teller said she didn't have any. Then I promised her and her co-workers some jelly donuts. They went into the vault and found some old-looking rolls behind a box in the corner. I found this about half-way through the 3rd roll. I drove over to NGC and they certified it as an MG63 Brasher Doubloon! What are the odds!
I bought a box of dimes at the bank today. They were Loomis rolls. When first checking all the the end coins, I didn't notice anything unusual. The first 10 rolls yielded no silver or varieties. Then, I found this sweet $20 Liberty in the middle of the 11th roll.
Nothing big but the teller had a five rolls of these weird looking coins all dated 1933. I did not have enough cash on my so I only got one roll.
What are the odds? I'd say if I had a choice between "slim" and "none", I'd opt for "none" because NGC closed their doors to customer traffic other than registered dealers about 9 years ago. Chris
Come on! You'll have to do better than that. The dime is only 17.9mm in diameter and the double eagle is 34mm in diameter. It won't fit in the roll! Chris
I wonder what the reward from the Secret Service would be? Would you PM your address to me, please? Chris
Jeez, I was almost about to run to the bank and order a shopping cart full of coin rolls and try my luck.... LOL
Chris, I was just starting to appreciate your sense of humor, then you get all serious. Must be April fools. (;~})
Local panhandler is always asking people for 50 cents. Usually I ignore him but yesterday I was feeling generous, but I told him I needed change for my dollar bill, since it was 50 cents that he wanted. He handed me back this. "O" mint mark on reverse. http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mo_CyN6KwJEN2hZdipTG-Pw.jpg
I found my avatar coin in a box of Cracker Jack. I'll be buying more boxes of Cracker Jack real soon.
