I don't normally collect VAMs, unless they are very noticeable. While looking through my collection I noticed this one that I remembered cherry picking a while ago, for $27. I think I matched it to VAM-1A, though haven't seen a single coin with the clash at 3 o'clock obverse. Anyone have a cool VAM they would like to post?
The stuff by UM is damage to the coin. Pity, since it otherwise has a nice look to it for a coin of that grade.
That's a wicked cool VAM. Too bad about the damage but still a very nice pick for $27! I'll play. Here's a very cool one. Its an 1890cc "Top-100" & "WOW" VAM 4 Tailbar. But not only that, it's in a contemporary sterling silver bezel. This was put in the bezel over 100yrs ago before CC's or even Morgans in general were anything more than pocket change and Leroy Van Allen wasn't even born yet (I think) lol. Plus, to top it off, I only paid $60 for it
This one is my first. Not my first Morgan but my first Morgan with the VAM identified. It was a purchase back in the mid '90's before I knew what VAMs really were.
