Thats the easy part, the hard part is making it stick so you don't crash to the ground!:D

Gee Ken, how did I know you'd have something to post with an airplane on it? Nice medal, and yes medals do count.

    P-51

    B-25

Back in the day when most blacks were relegated to the mess hall or yard work, a few were chosen for a revolutionary program involving the training of black military pilots. Tuskegee Institute was the chosen venue. The military at the time was still segregated so these new pilots encountered many challenges which had to be overcome in order to win their wings. They had to be the best of the best......and they were. Many a bomber crew over Germany was happy to see an escort of "Red Tail" '51's. Not a bomber crew was lost on a Tuskegee watch.

Other planes flown by the Tuskegee Airmen:

    P-39

    P-47

Thanks for the history Ken. The adversity they overcame and important contributions they made are things worth remembering and celebrating.
