found these 3 1960 nickels roll hunting today, could they have possibly been proofs? is there a way to tell? thanks for any help...
These appear like your traditional business strikes. Often times the mushy reverse (lack of any steps) are a tell-tale sign of a BS.
The mint rode those dies to death, especially in the latter part of the 50's and into the 60's. Which explains why full stepped nicks in that date range commands a boatload of cash.
