Here we go again. Another weirdy and I need help identifying it. I have a 2010D penny that shows signs of doubling. I don't know whether it's a new variety or a deteriorated die, but my largely untutored mind is tending towards new variety. Here's what make me think so: 1) The "U" in "In God We Trust" definitely looks upshifted, and other letters look like it, a little less so. 2) "Liberty" is FAT, with very thick verticals. The "B" looks positively pregnant. There are good signs of doubling, BUT... 1) There's a die chip under the "L" 2) There's a dot of extra metal near Lincoln's face. Which points to deterioration. Yes, I know the pictures are poor, and no the color isn't accurate. It's a shiny new penny, in about AU-50 shape. Should you think that this is worth CONECA looking at, please provide me with a link on how to submit it. I've looked and found several links, all seemingly contradictory. As always, my gratitude in advance for whatever help is offered. There are two more pictures. Maybe I can even post them in the same thread!
