This is a close up of the reverse side of a 2012 D Penny and I would like to know if this would be considered a mule die clash error - Thanks in advance.

I think it was caused by a worn die. There are ridge rings on both sides as well, which are more evidence of die deterioration.

The answer is no. It is a simple Die Deterioration issue. Nothing else.

Just minted from a die that should have been removed from service.
