I have two coins, one a California quarter and the other a 1979 quarter, which i believe the california is missing its clad and the 1979 is missing portions. Please, if they are nothing special or if you think they are nothing special, let me down easy. I'm hoping these are the real deal.
First, welcome to the neighborhood! Second, are you sitting down? Neither of them appear to be missing a clad layer or even a portion of a clad layer. It just doesn't happen that bits and pieces are missing here and there. Your photos aren't the clearest, but the 2005 CA SQ looks like it might have been subject to environmental damage, and the 79 looks like it may have been colored at some time and someone tried to clean it off. It wasn't unusual for bars and taverns that had juke boxes, games and pool tables to paint some "house" coins so they could be recovered before the split with the vending company. Here is a Kennedy missing the reverse clad layer that I found in a bag from the Mint. Chris
