Came across this penny in my pocket change last week and made a vid showing it off. Unfortunately I don't have a high resolution camera but my video cam worked fine for showing details about the coin. The coin as shown has not been cleaned or anything, presented exactly as it was found. I'm not 100% sure if it's a true mint error but seems to be from the details I'm seeing about it. Speaking of the vid I chose not to speak when I made it to avoid leading anyone to a conclusion about the coin itself or about any details of it, I'd rather you come up with you own conclusions about it and comment or ask questions. The vid is hosted on my personal channel for "Mr .Bones". 1929 Wheat Penny - Possible mint error - YouTube I'll go ahead and say thank you in advance guys.
Fwiw, most people here would rather look at pictures instead of going to someone's personal youtube page. EDIT: going against my own advice this time, I opened your video. Your coin was previously encased in something. Look up "Lucky Penny". Just damage.
Thanks for the responses guys, it's appreciated. I'll try and see if my camera can't get some decent pics anyway but went with the vid cam when I tried because it at least can show some nice pics/vid of it. I was between calling it an error and damage myself, I'll keep it anyway just because of it's date and whatnot. Once again thanks guys, I'll have to dig out my confirmed mint error dime (1999) I have and show that off at some point.
