Possible mechanical doubling"

"ED" "ST" & "HLF DOLLAR" some of the letters have a more prominent "doubling"
I am still new but have been reading up on the links that have been provided to me thank you again, I came across this today, it's not anything great but another one to stick in the cool jar. To me it appears to be mechanical doubling. But then again I have been wrong every coin ha

1971 D and it's in really great shape for being circulated.

Yeah, mechanical doubling and machine doubling are the same thing. It's only worth 50c.

Thank you for verification. I know it's not worth more than face value, but this is a big step for me in learning what to look for.i seen this without even scrutinizing the lines are very clear. I know it's just another cool jar coin but I am enjoying this alot. This is the closest "error" coin I have come across
