I have spent a good chunk of time trying to look up and decipher if the coin that Is in my possession is in fact an error. And if so I’d like to know how it gets to be like that and if it’s worth anything.

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Brenton!

In the future, it would help if you tell us what you think you see rather than have us guess. It's okay if you don't happen to know the technical term for any error.

It would also help if you use the "Full Image" option instead of the "Thumbnail" when posting your images.

It's a real nickel but it's not an error. It's been damaged and only worth a nickel.

    Welcome to CT.

Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. And my apologies for not specifying. What I had thought was that it had another D stamped over top of the last number in the date.
