My wife is a bartender and gets $1 bills as tips. She came across one not long ago that didn't have the green Department Of The Treasury stamp on the right side of Washington's head under the serial number. Sadly she wasn't paying attention and accidentally spent it a few days later. So my question is, were we millionaires for a few days and didn't know it or should we be waiting for the Secret Service to come knocking on our door for passing a phony bill?
Or like this one sitting on my desk? Took it to the local coin shop a few weeks ago and was offered $100 for it... so $200-$300 might be the actual sell price.
Yep, my wife says that's exactly what it looked like. Sadly I never got to see it. I'm hoping being a small community we might get lucky and get it back. Believe it or not I've had that happen with some of my Where's George? dollars.
too bad for the lose of the note. Errors are really neat to see/have. Nice note Jloring, I hope you don't ever let that go for $100! Wonder how many times a dealer gets someone to say yes to an offer like that?
