Welcome to CT!!! I agree a photo of the whole obverse will help in diagnosing what we are seeing. Having said that could this be a planchet flaw? Notice how the "L" in liberty is present? Doesn't this indicate that it was minted this way?
Hey... Why did you create a new thread when you already have a thread on the same Quarter back in May?
To be fair, this time she mostly appears to be asking for a value, but pointing out that this had been previously discussed would have been nice.
It's hard to put a dollar amount on it but it's definitely a premium error, so don't go dropping it in any gumball machine. But that should at least answer your question, it's definitely worth something. You can see if anyone here wants it by putting it in the WTS forum and describing it properly (description is in prior thread). It may even be worth having it attributed as such by a TPG. Others here, who regularly submit, might be willing to help you with that, if for whatever reason you can't do it, yourself. I like it. I think it's a very sharp example of this uncommon error. It's a handsome coin, in itself, to boot.
My apologies for the new thread. I'm new to all this and didnt know opening new feed and asking different questions was not allowed.
Wait wait wait ... this is not a question of what is allowed or not. It's just that people who think about replying would usually like to know what others have already contributed. And yes, while I could not answer the WiW question, that sure is an interesting error. Christian
