I just found this 1987D Penny, In God We Trust is pushed up but there seems to be little bumps over parts of the coin. The first picture is of the front, you can see In God We Trust and the bumps over the coin. Second and third are close up shots of the bumps on the front. Fourth is a close up of the bumps between the pillars on the reverse.

Just bubbles in the plating, a common occurrence.

Thanks. I had read some place, someone called it a "sneezing Lincoln) I didn't pay a lot of attention, because I had never seen one. I found a 2002 D yesterday and recalled the reading. My coin has lines on the reverse that look like the strokes of a fine paint brush ?

    Gas bubbles. Good to know.

    Do you keep it ?

I decided to keep mine. It's something you don't see everyday.

True to a point. I saw a couple more after I got further into the rolls. I think there were about 6 or 7 in 20 rolls that had the bubbles on both sides. So it is more common than I had thought.
