Possible double die.

    2012-01-20 08.23.12.jpg I have this 1992 D penny. what do you think? Double die?

    It's split plate split doubling. Not an error. It's common on the plated cents.

    What you are asking about is called a doubled die. :)

    Actually, it's die deteroriation doubling.....very common on the 1992D's and not worth an added premium.

    BTW - The correct term is doublED die.
