    Info wanted guys:
Is Rick's coin a tad unusual in showing ghosting due to the sinking die steel W-1 like so many of the 1971's.
I don't remember 1972's as showing this, I never did a rigorous study for this though. I've never heard the term "die steel" before. Is this terminology used to describe some phenomenon of Ikes?

No in 1971 the W-1, (Reverse) was a steel die used on some of the 1971-s ikes, I guess, it was for the world on the reverse of the ike dollar

Thanks Rick. So they switched to a new die composition?

To me it sounds like if true, it could have a 71 reverse, I guess, and hopefully RVD-007, which is rare on a 71s, thats why I took photos of the eagle tail, so I could match it up to this reverse (RVD-007)
