So I searched my first roll of presidential dollars looking for errors , I know the edge of these coins can leave minor impressions on other edges of coins when being rolled or so I 've read. After looking at some pictures of these 'edge impressed' coins I noticed the one I found the '1' in 2010 looks like a half star, and its really deep in the coin, not a minor impression .Does this look like an error ? Any help is appreciated.
I think those guys at the mint still can't get a handle on edge lettering. I saw the machine that does this, and a "Union is good" sign above it? Well there's your problem! J/K Looks cool, curious if the coin slipped a little causing an over write?
Cool, I might take a closer look at the few I have. I always believed that if in doubt, put it in a 2x2 and hold on to it
Looks like a hit to me. Now if you're looking for something REALLY cool, look no further than this Native American Dollar dated 2910! Of course it won't be monetized for another 899 years but so what?
Why the heck don't they just imprint with the collar during the pressing process instead of using a roll machine in a separate process? I want to say it's gobernment, but I would like to think I have a higher respect for the Mint and their staff of machinist... I know Carson City would have never screwed it up LOL!
