Found a nice 1966 on front but reverse looks rough. Not sure since the E Pluribus is so light if its not a ddd . The F in Of and E in states.

    Then the 81 obverse. Looks like the ddo with the split serifs 0823170550_HDR.jpg 0823170551_HDR.jpg 0823170553a_HDR.jpg 0823170554b_HDR.jpg 0823170554d_HDR.jpg 0823170602c_HDR.jpg 0823170601a_HDR.jpg 0823170607j_HDR.jpg 0823170607i_HDR.jpg 0823170607h_HDR.jpg

I can see what you talking about it sucks that the coins also has damage and fair wear.

    The E is definitely doubled

Oh i see doubling. Looks good but im not an error expert. I prefer ones that jump out at me then there is no doubt. But those are nice regardless

Someone just called me with a bunch of 40% Kennedy halves. Running to meet him quickly. What is the most per coin I should spend?

I feel you on that one. I definitely rather the obvious. I'm not looking to get rich of coins I just like the hunt and knowing if I really found a doubled die or if its mechanical or ddd.

I don't see any split serifs on the '81 and that looks like die deterioration on the '66 to me.

Oops! I had the dates switched. Corrected!

I agree with Chris to the extent I do not see any true doubling on the E or F. Jim

Well darn. That E looked pretty chunky on the top end so I had to ask. Thanks you all

Think of it this way, imagine another letter "E" coming down over the E that was pressed first on die by the transfer. You see the top OK, but where is the corresponding doubling of the middle or lower arm? They would be about the same distance separation on each E pressing, same for the F of the "OF".

I understand. I always worry about that section because it usually gets that nice ring around the coin from machine. That machine has ruined so many coins. Quarters the worst I think. Guess its a coin wrapping machine
