I was looking at some wheat cents in front of me and noticed something odd with the mint mark. The odd mint mark is in photo 1 and photo 2 is of a different 1953 D just for comparison.
Your pic is a little too fuzzy to tell. Here's a good site to check if you can find a match to yours. Just fill in the date, select the mint and where it says type of variety select mintmark. http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php Sometimes the mintmark can take a hit and the metal gets pushed around causing it to look funny.
I cant see into the middle of it to determine if you can see a trail of another mint mark im just gonna let it go.
