I found this 1935 S extra ray while at another flea market in Manhattan NY Last week. It has an extra ray pointing to the Mint Mark S. This would make it the 4th ray above the eagles tail on the reverse. Below the eagles tail is the 7th ray that eventually come out the top side and points to the S. The 2x2 holder was well worn and marked 4 rays, The seller had no idea whar it meant so I cherrypicked it for $12. Vamworld rates this an I-2 and a R-3. Here's a look. Any comments. please. I didn't realize that the scans came out so small. I'll try again, now that I'm home. Too tired tonight from flying all day. Jello, you referenced a page that shows a 1935 S VAM 6 Doubled ray. I was thinking mine was a Vam 3 Extra Ray. I haven't been able to see a doubled 4th ray as the coin may be too worn. I need to do some more investigating in order to establish if it's a VAM 3 or a 6. Bruce
It looks like it could be a VAM6 although the photos are still a bit small. Hereis a link to a photo from Leroy Van Allens Site: Source: http://dmplvam.com/VAM/1926-35/
